DURATION: APPROX. 6 HOURS

PEOPLE: MIN 2

ITINERARY: SASSOCORVARO – MACERATA FELTRIA - FRONTINO

The territory of Montefeltro is characterized by the presence of fortresses and castles, some of which are among the most interesting in Italy.

The village of Sassocorvaro, in the province of Pesaro Urbino focused around the Rocca Ubaldinesca, that is now home to the art gallery and the Farmer’s culture museum. During World War II, the Superintendent of Fine Arts in Pesaro and Urbino, hid in the fortress over 10.000 paintings coming from the greatest Italian museums in order to prevent thefts from the Nazis.

With only 300 inhabitants, the small and charming village of Frontino stands on a rocky spur, surrounded by hills, woods and cultivated fields, offering an image of the past. This remote, fortified village is included in the list of "The Most Beautiful Villages of Italy". Macerata Feltria is a town of ancient origins that was founded in pre-Roman times. The oldest and fortified part of the village is called "Castello" (“Castle”). In the artistic heritage of Macerata Feltria, you will find, among others, the Archaeological and Paleontological Museum and the Vintage Radios Museum. You will stop for lunch in an amazing location with great views and, of course, delicious food&wine.
